Napoleon Bonaparte was historically recognized for his significant charisma and military skill. Establishing
a quick career was able to move up the hierarchy of the French army
and, soon after, take the maximum steering position of that country. However, in addition to his political skills and military this
acclaimed character he was also known for its large number of romantic
relationships.
As
a young man, not being in possession of a very attractive image, just
scrambling in studies with only sixteen, they assured him the lieutenant
condition of the French army. Two
years later, he could not resist the temptation of several prostitutes
who zigzagged near the Palais Royal in central Paris. One night, we ended up sleeping with one of these women after a long
Sabbath of questions about the life of the chosen prostitute.
With the outbreak of the revolution, Napoleon began to become known for their courage and cunning in battle. However, the same prominent role was not the case with women, who continued to see him as a man of little expressiveness. Even doing dance classes and etiquette, no marriageable lady was willing to trust that misaligned and little tact figure.
The
first young man who wished to walk down the aisle with the promising
brigadier general was Bernardine Eugénie Desiree, only sixteen. But her father would not allow the wedding because it did not have much taste for Bonaparte family. Years before, he had allowed Joseph Bonaparte, Napoleon's older brother, to marry another of his daughters. In fact, the married man's condition only became galgada by Napoleon
in 1796, when the widow Josephine de Beauharnais accepted his request.
Hopelessly in love with his wife, Napoleon wrote torrid love letters who confessed his complete devotion to Josefina. In contrast, the woman betrayed her with other men and did not care to answer her husband's love letters. By becoming aware of unrequited love, Napoleon decided to respond in
kind maintaining an affair with the beautiful Pauline Fourès, who had
disguised man to accompany her husband in the battles of Egypt.
Their
involvement with Pauline was no secret to any of his men, so that some
jokingly called her the "blonde Cleopatra general". At
that time he was in Egyptian land, kept another affair with Zenab, the
daughter of an Egyptian sheikh who fought against the French troops. With the end of the campaigns in Egypt, he returned to his home and, once again, found the unfaithful wife waiting for him.
Enraged by neglect your spouse, it concluded that divorce should end the mismatch between the bankrupt couple. Desperate by the decision, Josefina threw himself to Napoleon's feet begging her forgiveness. Seeing his wife in tears, did not resist and forgave her. After
the incident, Napoleon ascended the French political scene with support
from the population that saw as an unquestionable national hero. In 1804, he became emperor of France and turned into Empress Josephine.
Aware
that her marriage was not successful, Napoleon seized power so that his
aides aliciassem the beautiful ladies of the Parisian court. Among
the unknown lovers, we had a more regular affair with actress Georgina,
who felt flattered by the desire that provoked one of the most powerful
men of the time. Even fondly that situation, the recruiters of the emperor always
recommended that she showed surprise at the meetings, as Napoleon was
like.
At one point, the sexual appetite of Napoleon ended up being used as a political bargaining tool. On one occasion, the French emperor proved hopelessly in love with Polish countess Maria Waleska. Upon learning of the situation, compatriots Waleska encouraged to invest in the relationship. The purpose behind the maneuver would convince Napoleon to establish
the independence of Poland, which had been taken by the troops of
Russia, Prussia and Austria.
Involvement
with Maria Waleska gave rise, in 1810, the first son of Napoleon
Bonaparte, Alexander Walewski, which can not be recognized. Despite
the setback, the French emperor had noted that should leave an heir to
the throne and his wife had no physical condition to conceive. As a result, it decided to divorce Josephine, who, in turn, was completely desolate.
In
fact, four years earlier, Napoleon had had another illegitimate son
with Eleonore Denuelle, chaperone of one of the sisters of the emperor. Unable
to reveal who the father of the child, the servant decided to honor him
with the name of León, an abbreviation of "Napoleon". At this time, the amorous adventures of the Corsican general began to spread their offspring around Europe.
Seeking
to resolve the question of the heir and at the same time, cool the fury
of the enemy troops, Napoleon negotiated his marriage to the Duchess
Maria Luisa. As
the daughter of the Emperor of Austria, this marriage could serve as a
key point for other European nations to recognize his government. Later, over a relationship that seemed happy, Bonaparte got his only
legitimate son, Francois Charles Joseph Bonaparte or Napoleon II.
In the year 1814, the terrible defeats imposed by the Russian army ended up separating the imperial couple definitely. Not
even when France resumed the "Hundred Days of Government," the young
Empress had the opportunity to meet the beloved husband. Over time, the distance eventually forcing her to sustain an
extramarital relationship with his assistant Adam Albert Graf von
Neipperg orders.
In
the period was exiled in St. Helena, Napoleon had an affair with Albine
Helene, the wife of one of the servants who accompanied him in exile. In 1819, the young Albine left the island with a child named Josephine, which defeated the emperor recognized as his daughter. Interestingly, before his death, Napoleon asked that his heart be sent to Maria Luisa. However, the British authorities did not allow the latter and macabre romantic gesture was performe.
